The Monday Okpebholo Solidarity Movement (MOSOM) has officially commended the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his proactive and decisive leadership following the swift rescue of a victim abducted at the Vegetable Market in Benin City.
The victim was reportedly kidnapped in the presence of her husband and children, a harrowing incident that sparked widespread concern among residents. However, the situation was brought under control following the Governor’s immediate intervention and direct mandate to state security agencies.

In an official statement signed by the Secretary/Co-Convener of the group, Alh. Prince MKO Chalaman Momoh, MOSOM praised the Governor for his rapid response, which led to the successful rescue of the victim and the subsequent apprehension of the suspected perpetrators.
”This has once again demonstrated His Excellency’s commitment to the responsibility of government to protect the lives and property of citizens,” the statement read. The group further noted that the Governor’s swift action serves as a stern warning that Edo State will no longer tolerate the presence of kidnappers, cultists, or any criminal elements intent on disturbing the peace.
While celebrating the success in Benin City, MOSOM took the opportunity to urge the Governor to extend this high-level security coordination and visibility to the Edo North and Edo Central Senatorial Districts. The movement emphasized that proactive intervention and security patrols should be a uniform standard across all parts of the state to ensure every citizen feels protected.
The group reiterated its commitment to supporting the current administration’s vision for a safer, more prosperous Edo State. They called on all MOSOM members across the three senatorial districts to remain vigilant and act as the eyes and ears of the government.
”Security remains a collective concern,” the statement continued. “We urge all members to report suspicious movements or activities to the appropriate security agencies immediately to complement the government’s efforts in restoring public confidence.”
MOSOM concluded by expressing its continued support for the administration, stating that with sustained collaboration between the state government, law enforcement, and local communities, the goal of a secure and peaceful Edo State is well within reach.
