Thank God Mr. President is in sync with my earlier article, entitled “Flyover as Mecca? Edo People deserves more than concrete.”

Those who turned every flyover commissioning to Mecca, with praise singers, Asoebi, and drums, can now hear directly from Mr. President. Please forward the memo to Senator Okpebholo and others.
Governors, stop the “Hallelujah Projects.”
For years we’ve watched billions sunk into flyovers where the real need was water, PHCs, classrooms, and jobs. A 3km flyover in a state where teachers are owed 8 months. A bridge to nowhere in a state where mothers still deliver on bare floors. Then we clap, cut ribbon, and call it “development.”
Mr. President is right on this one.
People don’t eat concrete. They eat food. They don’t sleep on asphalt. They sleep in homes with light and security. They don’t send children to interchanges. They send them to schools with teachers and books.
This is not to say infrastructure is bad. We need roads. But need must meet priority. A flyover in traffic gridlock makes sense. A flyover for politics does not.
So let this be the reset.
Governors, audit your projects. Ask: “Does this improve life expectancy? Does this reduce poverty? Does this put food on the table?”
If the answer is no, drop the crane and pick up the clinic.
Because history will not remember how many flyovers you built. It will remember how many lives you lifted.
