This is what Edo people are saying. This is what is emanating from Edo State as thus, “The challenges we’re facing in Edo today are largely due to our governor’s poor political judgment and weak leadership.”
And you can feel the pain behind those words.
Leadership is not about slogans. It is about judgment. About choosing what fights to fight, what bridges to build, and what fires to put out first.
When political judgment is poor, you pick battles with everybody and allies with nobody. You govern by vendetta, not by vision. You spend energy on ego while roads, schools, and markets beg for attention.
When leadership is weak, nothing holds. Investors run. Civil servants wait for instructions that never come. Communities feel abandoned. Security suffers. The people start asking: who is in charge?
Edo deserves better. Edo is not a small state. It has history, talent, industry, and pride. From Benin to Auchi to Ekpoma, the people are hardworking. They do not need excuses. They need direction.
Governance is not a game of survival. It is service. It is listening more than shouting. It is planning, executing, and being accountable.
To the governor: swallow pride, consult widely, and reset. To Edo people: keep speaking. Democracy only works when the people talk and leaders listen.
Edo’s problems are not destiny. They are decisions. And different decisions can bring different results.
