The Federal Government has commenced a free registration programme for 250,000 small businesses and companies across Nigeria as part of efforts to promote formalisation and support the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The initiative is being implemented through a partnership between the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
Under the programme, eligible business owners can register their businesses at no cost and obtain official certificates of registration, enabling them to operate as legally recognised entities.
The initiative is expected to help more small businesses formalise their operations and gain access to opportunities linked to government programmes and other business support services.
Interested business owners are encouraged to take advantage of the initiative and complete their registration through the official CAC platform.
