The Gombe State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Hon. Adamu Dishi Kupto, on Saturday received the leadership of Youth O’Clock during a courtesy visit to his office.
Speaking during the visit, the State Coordinator, who also serves as the National Coordinator of the organisation, Comrade Abdul’azees Sani Labaran, said the delegation was in the Ministry to congratulate the Honourable Commissioner on his reappointment by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
He noted that the visit also aimed to strengthen the existing collaboration between the Ministry and Youth O’Clock in promoting peace, security, and youth engagement across the state.
Comrade Labaran further disclosed that the organisation intends to partner with the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs and other relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the planning and successful celebration of the 2026 International Youth Day, scheduled for 12 August 2026.
As part of the proposed activities for the celebration, Youth O’Clock plans to organise a Non-Conventional Security Groups Parade Competition at the Emir’s Palace, followed by a peaceful awareness procession from the Emir’s Palace to the Government House.
Responding, Kupto appreciated the delegation for the visit, congratulatory message, and commitment to supporting the Government’s youth development initiatives. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with the organisation and assured them of the Ministry’s full support towards the successful implementation of the planned activities.
The Commissioner subsequently directed the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Bldr. Ahmed Sa’eed Guli, to liaise with the organisation and take the necessary administrative steps to facilitate the collaboration.
