Fellow Citizen, let us speak plainly.
Even Buhari did not want to give Tinubu power. Not because of party. Because he knew. He knew how deadly and dangerous Tinubu can be with power. Ruthless. Unchecked.
That is why “all is fair in politics” became national policy the moment power changed hands.
Today we are seeing it. Osun is burning. Edo2024 was his rehearsal brazenly. Candidates are being arrested with guns. Thugs are dancing. Ballot boxes will be snatched and called strategy. Youths are rented and called “structure.”
When a president normalizes desperation, the boys at the bottom weaponize it. When the top winks at violence, the street hears: carry on.
Buhari broke the foundation with drift and silence. Tinubu is painting the cracks gold with slogans and “reforms.” But “Renewed Hope” cannot grow where blood is the fertilizer.
This is not about 2023 grievances. This is about 2027 and beyond. What kind of country are we building where power means impunity, and politics means war?
A leader’s words are seeds. “All is fair” licenses chaos. It tells the young man: if you want to win, carry a gun.
Nigeria is already on a keg of gunpowder. We do not need more matches.
Until we reject ruthlessness as strategy, we will keep burying our children.
