State Coordinator cautions the 2019 Batch B Stream I Corps members against defacing the NYSC Uniform.
The State Coordinator NYSC Gombe,Mr David Pwanidi Markson, has called on the 2019 Batch B stream 1 Corps members deployed to the State to abide by the rules and regulations of the Orientation course.
Mr Markson, made the call at the briefing of the Corps members today, Wednesday 19th June ,2019 at the parade ground.
He took his time to speak on the four cardinal programmes of the scheme , relocation, use of meal tickets,proper use of kits, illegal disconnection at the hostel, exit, allowances ,lectures and the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme,among other things
He warned the Corps members to resist from defacing the NYSC uniform by using rubber band at the hem of the khaki trouser, trimming it to the popular ‘pencil style’ artistic writing on the uniforms and turning the trouser to three quarter among other things.” Anyone caught defacing the uniform will be severely dealt with in accordance to the provisions of the NYSC Act” he maintained.
Speaking on instilling the core values of the Scheme,the State coordinator said the platoons have been named after the core values of the NYSC as Corps members would use them as morning meditation topics during the everyday ‘morning meditation. The core values include; dedication, efficiency, humility, diligence, punctuality, commitment, Integrity, teamwork, loyalty and discipline.
