The Secretary of Gombe state Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has expressed concern over the condition of education in the state. Njodi, stated this today in an address to staff of Gombe state Ministry of Education during an unscheduled visit to the Ministry. This was contained in a statement signed by the Information officer, office of the Secretary of the state government, Mr Joshua Danmalam, which was made available to journalists. Njodi, told officials of the ministry, the efforts of Governor Inuwa Yahaya, to overhaul the educational sector. Speaking further the Secretary to the state government said “The state government will come up with a short term, medium term and long term plans to ensure a conducive environment for learning and teaching in all the schools across the state.
Njodi, who was conducted round by the Permanent Secretary, Alh. Sulei Bappaji, noted that the problems of dilapidated structures at the ministry headquarters and poor condition of service would be looked into. He called on officials of the ministry to cooperate with government in other to salvage the educational situation of the state he said ” As Civil Servants we have great role to play in making things change for the better ” he said.
Bappaji, used the opportunity to brief the SSG, on the activities of the ministry and challenges facing the ministry ranging from lack of operational vehicles for the inspectorate unit and dilapidated office structures staff are operating from .
