The Gombe chapter of Civil Society for HIV/AIDS in Nigeria CiSHAN on Saturday elected new executives to pilot the affairs of the organization.
The election which was monitored by the zonal coordinator CiSHAN Northeast, Mr Samuel Tari, at the Gombe State Agency for the Control of Aids (GomSACA) office.

Alh. Ahmed Yusuf, the immediate past State Coordinator, noted that he will continue to provide advise where necessary “some of those elected were in my cabinet, especially the current state Coordinator, Mr Yusuf, was my secretary, and he was very diligent. I have given him all the assurances of what I can do to ensure his administration becomes a success, together we will achieve much” he said.

Mr Tari, who also served as external election officer led the newly constituted cabinet to GomSACA, Project Manager, in their first courtesy call. Receiving the team on behalf of Dr. Suraj Abdulkarim, Alh. El nafaty Mahmoud, community mobilisation officer GomSACA.
The state coordinator, Mr Yusuf, who has Capacity, Commitment and Impact as election promise assured the agency that the team will bring to bear monument of achievements.
“We are going to ensure that we have a more vibrant CiSHAN in Gombe state. We will ensure that all standing committees are active.
“We will chart a new course for CiSHAN in the response to HIV/ AIDS in Gombe state. We will Reposition CiSHAN, Reproject HIV/AIDS response, Restrengthen our funding base, Remind ourselves on the need to succeed because we will be guided by character and results.
“We will operate from ‘E’ factor dimension, Excellence, Extra mile as we intend to operate in a result oriented manner. “We will not operate based on tenure as we may not wait till three years before we remove someone from office.
“If you think am not performing and you call me to order and I didn’t adhere, you have the power to remove me, don’t wait till after three years, Vote of No Confidence is applicable and that goes to all executives here.
“If you are not performing and we do our best to bring that to your notice, we will use the vote of no confidence to remove you, ‘No room for sleep’, results are our desire.
“We will organize a two days orientation, where every office will be projected.
“We must pursue a collective success” he added.
Alh. Mahmoud, noted that GomSACA is CiSHAN and CiSHAN is GomSACA. He said “We can’t operate without the network of organizations that are into HIV/AIDS. Be united at all times for the progress of this organization. The progress of CiSHAN is the progress GomSACA, the progress of GomSACA is the progress of Gombe state, the progress of Gombe state is a progress to the Nation” he noted.
