The Director Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, NYSC Directorate Headquarters,Mr Hilary Nasamu, has called on the 2019 Batch B Stream II Corps members deployed to Gombe State to take advantage of the partnership between the National Youth Service Corps and Bank of Industry to get loan in other to start up a business after the service year.
Mr Nasamu disclosed this today when he visited NYSC temporary orientation camp Amada, Gombe state, to interact with the Corps members.
The loan according to him would be given to Corps members with good business proposal by the Bank of Industry without collateral, after surrendering their certificate of national service to the NYSC and are expected to repay after a moratorium of three years. He said “Every country relies on its Youth to redirect their energies for self-reliance.
” The Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme is introduced to stem the tide of unemployment. Jobs are no longer easy to come by because of the state of the economy. You must take this programme seriously. The experience the NYSC confers on you is the best and it is expected to widen your horizon on a lot of things” he added.
Mr Nasamu also encouraged them to take the post camp Skill Acquisition training seriously. Adding that the Integrated Northeast Skill Acquisition Centre in Gombe, with the capacity to contain 500 Corps members at the same time shall take off the post camp training of Corps members in the zone ,soon.
The director, took his time to speak to the Corps members on the four cardinal programmes of the Scheme, Security, discipline and defacing of the NYSC uniform among other things.
