The controller stated this on thursday in a farewell service organized for officers of the command that retired from 2018 to date, at the Conference Hall of Federal Secretariat Complex Gombe, Gombe State.
The Controller in his address expressed happiness on the turn~up. He noted that the retirees are looking active and healthy which is a sign of good living and wished them well in life after retirement.
He also took time to highlight the Correctional Service act 2019 and it’s benefits to them, since they all retired before its enactment.
“It is good to serve our father land meritoriously. These men and women are worthy examples of hard work and diligence” he said.
In a vote of thanks on behalf of his colleagues Assistant Controller of Prisons John Yame ( retired ) expressed gratitude to God, the State Controller and the people that came to rejoice with them saying the occasion is first of it’s kind in the history of Correctional Service in Gombe State.
In a chat with our correspondent many of them expressed delight for the honour bestowed on them by the command.
The retirees were presented with gift items and entertained with some Musicals, which saw the occasion to its end.
The occasion had in attendance representatives of the Five (5) Custodial Centres in the command, State Headquarters staff, the retirees numbering twelve (12) with their families, friends and well wishers.
