The State Coordinator NYSC Gombe,Mr David Markson, has called on the 2019 Batch C Stream I Corps members to take the lecture series seriously.
He stated this at the flag off of lectures at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp,Amada, in Gombe State. Mr Markson, maintained that the importance of lectures in the orientation course content cannot be overemphasized, adding that the scheme is in collaboration with several organisations who shall come to camp to lecture Corps members and camp Officials on topical and national issues.
“It is imperative that you attend every lecture with writing materials and ask questions where you do not understand. We shall adhere strictly to lectures on the timetable. Remember, no knowledge is a waste” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of lectures, Mr Bala Mohammed Baba, called on the Corps members to avail themselves to the opportunity presented as varieties of topics would be presented to keep them abreast with happening within and outside the camp.
Delivering the first lecture on security,the representative of the Director State Security Service, Gombe State Command, Mr Yusuf Iliya took his time to define security, threats, national security, individual security and also gave a general overview of security. He maintained that security is everybody’s business and must be taken seriously. He took his time to speak about cyber warfare, Information warfare and trade war among others.
