Dadinkowa power project to Supply 40 Mega watts, as Gov Yahaya sets to pick date

The Managing Director of Mabon Energy Limited, Mr. Christopher Cyril, says  Dadinkowa Hydropower Plant in Gombe state is set to be commissioned in December this year.
Cyril disclosed this on thursday during a meeting with Governor  Inuwa Yahaya at the Government House,  Gombe. 
He noted that the project will produce 40 mega watts of electricity to improve and stabilise power supply as well as promote socio-economic development of the region and country at large. 
“all is now set for its launching. We appeal to you as the  chief executive officer of the state to fix any convenient  date in December for the commissioning ceremony” he said .
Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed delight that after several  years,  the Dadinkowa Hydropower project is now coming to fruition, noting that apart from enhancing electricity supply, the plant will also promote micro, small and medium enterprises for the benefit of the people of the state. 
He said already there is a plan on ground by the federal Government to commence 3000 hectare irrigation expansion scheme in Dadinkowa while Transmission Company  of Nigeria, TCN will also set up a sub station to service other areas.
“This administration is considering the establishment of an industrial park within the vicinity or along the river belt in order to reap maximally from the project’s value chain. 
” I wish to appeal to the company handling  the plant to adopt local content policy in its service and operations for the economic benefit of the host community and the entire people of the state” he said .
 The Governor assured that a date in December will soon be announced for the commissioning of the project. 
You will recall that this project has been on for over two decades.
