The State Coordinator NYSC Gombe, Mr David Markson, has said that the NYSC SAED mandate is reduction of extreme hunger in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) .
Markson stated this on Monday at the opening ceremony of Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme.

He appealed to the Corps members to avail themselves of the opportunity presented at the Orientation Camp through Skills Aquisition, instead of seeking elusive white collar jobs.
 “A 30 hour period in nine days has been dedicated to the SAED training in the twenty one (21) days Orientation course, where  you will be taught what business is ,who an entrepreneur is and what it requires to be successfu” Markson said.
He  also spoke about post camp Training, funding, Job awareness and creation, regulatory bodies and mentorship among other things
Meanwhile the Head of SAED, Mrs Nkiru  Mmadumbu, said it became necessary to introduce the Skills Aquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme into the Scheme to stem the tide of unemployment and help corps members augment their allowances.
 “Take the programme seriously. key into the 12 set skills for a better tomorrow. camp training would last for ten days, this will enable you know the rudiments of your chosen skills”.

The Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme is an initiative of the NYSC, driven to aid corps members  obtain the necessary skills that would enable them  get  entrepreneurship skills in order to save them the pain of searching for white collar jobs .

There was a playlet on the importance of Skills Aquisition and Entrepreneurship Development by the SAED drama group.
