Gombe State Deputy Governor Dr. Manassah Jatau, on Wednesday said the Inuwa Yahaya led administration is particular on a 10 years development to track progress.
Jatau who is also the chairman of the committee on formulation of the plan stated this in Gombe, in an interview with journalists.
He said the plan will help hasten development and curtail incessant failure in projects delivery by elected government officials.
According to Jatau, “As you are very much aware we are working on a ten years development plan. We are hoping we will build a blue print that will guide future politicians in Gombe, they may deviate as usual but the line of deviation will be limited.
“By the time we finish the 10 years development plan, it will be translated into many languages across the state to allow residents challenge government at any time for instance we were promised a hospital by this and that time, where is it. This is because no government has ever finished his programme anywhere on earth, you start complete and leave some.”
Jatau added that Nigeria is far from developing noting that growth and development are far apart.
“growth is increase in number facilities which may not translate into improved standard of living while development on the other hand is improvement on all the sectors of the economy where there is improved standard of living. That is why we leftist, believe Nigeria is just growing and not developing if the naira we have today can’t buy the same thing you bought yesterday there is no development yet,” he said.
