Gombe Govt harps excellence, hard work among health care workers

Gombe State Government on Tuesday, reiterated zeal to rewarding excellence, hard work and commitment to duty with a view to improving efficiency and productivity in the delivery of health service across the state.
Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr. Manassah Jatau, made this disclosure at the annual presentation event of awards and distribution of motorcycles and laptops to routine immunization officers.
Jatau who represented the state governor Inuwa Yahaya, at the occasion, committed to scaling up healthcare services across the state.
He further urged the recipients of the awards to improve their skills and performance in delivering the needed services.
“Gombe State Government is committed in improving its quality and healthcare facilities in all the 114 wards of the state.
“Heath care is the priority of Governor Yahaya led administration since assumption into office to make sure that the health sector received a boost.
“I wish to commend the Primary Health Care Agency for identifying those who have dedicated themselves in the human development of the state as a commendable thing to be recognized, hence the reason for them to receive such awards,” he said.
On his part, Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ahmed Gana, who was represented by permanent secretary, ministry of health, Alhaji Musa Umar, described the performance of the Gombe State Primary Health Care Development Agency as excellent, adding that the support given by the executive has boosted the health sector activities in providing affordable, quality health care system that will stand the test of time.
Also speaking, The Executive secretary, Gombe State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr.Abdulrahman Shuaibu, said despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 pandemic, the agency did not relent in it efforts to provide the necessary health care services for the entire people of Gombe State.
Shuiabu who was represented by Dr. Yakubu Maigana, appreciated the support received from the state ministry of health.
He said, “other line ministries,donor agency partners as well as other stakeholders in moving the agency’s activities forward, such partnership is much needed in order to motivate the staff to perform more and project the agency to greater heights.”
