Declaration of Malam Danladi Maiyamba as new Mai, Executive recklessness- Lawyer

Yakubu Bawa on Thursday, described the announcement of Malam Danladi Maiyamba as the 16th Mai Tangale, as “executive recklessness.”
Bawa who is a lawyer to Incorporated Trustees of Tangale Development Association, stated this in an interview with The Periscope Nigeria.
Recall that the people especially women protested shortly after perceiving undue interest in Danladi Maiyamba, who polled 2 votes, over another candidate Dr. Musa Maiyamba, with 5 votes. The protest was hijacked leading to the death of 4 persons and wanton destruction of property.
According to the counsel, democracy is a game of number, adding that the recommendations of 9 kingmakers can be deduced from the voting pattern.
He said, “I’m consulting my client to know the next step. I wrote letter to the Attorney General of the state for him to inform and advise Gombe state governor to stay any action that is connected to the Stool of Mai Tangale pending the determination of the suit just filed by our clients.
“After we had filed suit in order to seek judicial review by a writ of Mandamus to compel the Governor through judicial order to announce and appoint Dr. Musa Idris Maiyamba as the duly elected Mai Tangale as part of constitutional, statutory, administrative and legal duties required by law since he has refused to do so. The order was to also restrain the Governor from appointing any of the two contestants or any person or disqualifying Dr. Musa Idris Maiyamba.”
Bawa added, “Democracy is a game of number, and it is about the people; in this case the kingmakers resolved that this is the person they find suitable and the most qualified that can lead them. The Government has executive powers and has chosen to resort to executive recklessness then fine.”
Meanwhile, calm is fast returning to Billiri Local Government, as the convoy of Mai Tangale Danladi, was spotted along Bypass Akko LGA.
However the people of Billiri town have been carrying their activities within the subsisting curfew duration of 6am to 2pm.
