Gombe NSCDC graduates 29 Special Female Armed Squad

No fewer than 29 Special Female Arms Squad have been graduated by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command, to mitigate emerging security challenges especially in schools.
According to a press statement which was made available on Tuesday, by the Public Relations Officer of the command DSC Saad Buhari , the squad comprising women were trained to be compliant with the trending securing challenges, adding that they would be deployed for special assignments in the State.
Our correspondent gathered that the arm bearing squad is an elite unit of the corps, geared towards combating the increasing wave of crimes, terrorism, banditry, kidnapping.
Speaking during the passing out ceremony at the command headquarters Gombe, The State Commandant Samson Wabulari, explained that the specialised training for the female Arms squad is sequel to the directives of the Commandant General Ahmed Audi , to address the gaps in combating the increasing wave of crime and criminality in the State.
Wabulari said the squad would be expected to conduct their activities within the rule of law, adding that protection of lives and property remained imperative to the corps.
Wabulari added, “I wish to task you all to be professional in the discharge of your duties at all times. It’s believed that what a man can do, a woman can do even better.”
The State Commandant, while congratulating the squad on a successful training said, “I urge you to see your training as member of the squad as a further call to duty, as much is been expected from each and everyone of you to make Gombe, and the country safe.
“This squad was formed in line with clearance of the Commandant General of NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi , to combat the emerging wave of crime and criminality. However, this is Commandant General’s mission as far as safe the school initiative of the Federal Government is concerned.”
