Gombe Deputy Gov harps unity in christendom
..as Fire Followers of Christ Assembly Gombe celebrates 12th Anniversary of God’s faithfulness.
The Gombe State Deputy Governor, Manassah Daniel Jatau, has called for unity amongst christians to portray the oneness of the body of Christ to the glory of the Lord.
The Deputy Governor who was speaking at a Church service marking the celebration of 12th Anniversary of the Fire Followers of Christ Assembly, Gombe emphasized that christians should be united irrespective of denominational inclinations.

The event was marked at the Church auditorium behind Igbo Timber Market, where dignitaries came from far and wide across the country to attend.
The Deputy Governor congratulated the officials of the Fire Followers of Christ Assembly, Gombe over 12 solid years of fellowship and God’s faithfulness in the lives of members of the church.
He described the sermon on the topic “the hand of the Lord” as very timely in these times of insecurity, poverty, hunger and a lot of temptations, pointing out that people really need the hand of the Lord to surmount the challenges.
He stressed that, the coming together of the people of God in prayer and supplication would attract the hand of the Lord upon their lives and the glory of the Lord would find it’s presence in the affairs of men towards positive encounters and life full of God’s blessings.
He solicited for prayers from Christians for the success of governance in Gombe State, for sustainable peace and socio-economic development for the overall interest of the people in Gombe and Nigeria at large.
In his sermon, the pastor in charge of the Church, Julius Emeomelu, spoke on the topic” The hand of the Lord”and pointed out that, the hand of the Lord is the power of God, and when it is upon someone, the person walks in extra ordinary dimensions.

Taking his references from Exodus Chapter 3, Verse 1-12, and Jeremiah Chapter 1 from verse 1, the Clergyman, explained that it was the hand of God upon Moses that empowered Moses though only a shepherd to encounter Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and that the same hand of God that was upon Jeremiah that empowered him, as young as he was, to take the message of God to kings and rulers.
He declared that, may the hand of God which had been on the Church empower them against every form of demonic manipulations, arrows and sicknesses that the Church shall triumph against them in Jesus’name.
The pastor appreciated the visit by the Deputy Governor, and led a session of prayer for him, his family and the government of Gombe State for more wisdom to overcome the challenges facing the present administration.
Highlights of the occasion include special ministrations by individuals, music group and children among others.
