Gombe NSCDC inaugurates taskforce to crack illegal private guards
No fewer than five persons have been inaugurated by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), to bring an end to illegal private guard companies operating in Gombe State.
According to a press statement which was made available by the Public Relations Officer DSC Buhari Saad, The State Commandant Samson Wabulari, urged the five-man taskforce to ensure the activities of unauthorised security companies are brought to a halt.

The Commandant also tasked the joint task force of NSCDC and the Association of all private licenced private Security practitioners of Nigeria Gombe, (ALPSPN), to ensure that unwholesome practices are checked, adding that the command would not compromise on the security of life and property.
He said, “To check quackery, it has become expedient to collaborate with Association of all private Licenced private Security Practitioners of Nigeria Gombe (ALPSPN).
“The joint task force will check the proliferation of unlicensed private security outfits and their operations in the state.”
Wabulari also promised to work with the association to achieve it set objectives.
Speaking earlier, Head of Private Guards Companies (PGC), DCC Bakare Rafiu Olugbenga in his address, called on members of the association in the state to identify, any security outfit operating illegally for appropriate action.
According to Olugbenga, “The joint task force is necessary to get rid of unregistered practitioners, whose activities pose great security risks to the Nation.”
On his part, Chairman Board of Trustees (BOT) North East, Musa Umar Pindiga, urged members of the association to devote themselves on professionalism and service delivery to enhance security of lives and properties in the Country.
Also speaking, the Gombe State Chairman of ALPSPN, Adamu Abubakar, expressed dismay over some guards who engage in unethical conduct, warning that erring companies would be sanctioned.
While lauding the efforts of the commandant and his men, Abubakar expressed optimism that the joint task force would achieve its set objectives.
“I wish to appreciate the State Commandant for the maiden inauguration of the joint task force in the state and also the Head of Private Guard Companies for steering the Department,” he added.
