About 100 unemployed persons are benefiting in entrepreneurship development training, organised by National Directorate of Employment (NDE), in conjunction with Nazeemursaj company.

The men and women are expected to be equipped with requisite knowledge to become self reliant at the end of a five-day training in Gombe.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent on Wednesday, Director General of NDE, Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, who was represented by Gombe State Coordinator, Mustapha Hassan, revealed that beneficiaries would be linked to designated banks to access credit facility, in order to start up.

Fikpo revealed that the amount to be accessed is dependent on the size of individual’s proposal, stressing that the essence of the partnership is to alleviate poverty and increase personal development.
He noted that the task of alleviating poverty is not that of the Government alone, noting that once requisite knowledge is imbibed, with adequate environment self reliance would be possible.

According to him, “NDE is collaborating with Nazeemursaj in training 100 unemployed that are aspiring for entrepreneurship development. The aim of the training is to equip the unemployed persons in entrepreneurship in order to be self reliant.
“At the end of the training they will be linked up with finance institutions to access loan to start their own business. However, the amount is dependent on proposal or type of project.”
Also speaking, Director Small Scale Enterprises of NDE Sunday Apakasa called on participants to take the training seriously, noting that it was organised to make them self reliant, to contribute to nation building.
Akpasa, who was represented by Nnodi Queeneth said the beneficiaries should consider themselves lucky to be part of the programme going by the rate of unemployment.
He said, “Only a few were selected out of the teeming unemployed in Gombe. The NDE will not only train them but will link them up to access loans. You should prepare and begin to think what business to do before accessing the loans.”
