Corps Members embark on operation keep Gombe clean
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), on Saturday commenced its 2022 first quarterly National Environmental Sanitation exercise in Gombe.
Speaking shortly before the commencement of the exercise, at Pantami District in Gombe State, the State Coordinator, Ada Imoni said it was observed from reports recorded during Health initiative For Rural Dwellers that high percentage of ailments recorded and treated by Corps medical personnel had direct relationship with poor sanitation and hygiene practices.

According to Imoni, this necessitated the quarterly exercise by the scheme.
She called on Corps members, Staff and members of Pantami District to take the programme seriously, adding that NYSC would not rest on its oars until the eleven Local Government Areas of the state were kept clean.
“It is not enough to clean nooks and crannies of Gombe State , members of the Community must play their part by partaking in routine sanitation of their homes and environs . Remember, cleanliness is next to Godliness,” Imoni added.

She maintained that in order to achieve the objectives of the exercise, every member of the community would be mobilised for participation in the environmental sanitation, which would feature sensitization.
On his part, the District Head of Pantami, Alhaji Yakubu Abdullahi commended Managers of the Scheme for the initiative, calling for it’s sustenance.
