Christian bodies honour the Primate, Church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba, others in Gombe

Milestone record was made in Gombe State, when Christian Bodies honoured the Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, His Grace, Most Rev.Henry Ndukuba.
Ndukuba was a one-time Chairman of Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, as well as Gombe State Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, were on Sunday, honoured along with a few others.
The Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria/ Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria which is part and parcel of Christian Association of Nigeria CAN decided to honour these distinguished Nigerians who have contributed
to the political, socio- economic and religious developments of the country in various undiluted capacities and at different levels.
The bodies CPFN/PFN of Christian Association of Nigeria believed that the Awards are in recognition of their meritorious services to Church and humanity.
The organisation also believed that the Awards of meritorious services given to them are in recognitions of their contributions and support to the Church and humanity which will encourage other christians to pursue God and make God the center of their lives despite disturbing developments.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the CPFN/PFN, Christian Association of Nigeria, Gombe Chapter, Rev. Thomas Ejiniyi said the Deputy Governor is a man of integrity who put in his best to ensure the growth of the Church, and enhancing the development of humanity through demonstrating high sense of commitment and very supportive to the Governor for the good of the the people of Gombe State.
Meanwhile, the Awards were presented to the Anglican Primate of Nigeria, His Grace Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba who one- time CAN Chairman, immediate past Archbishop of Jos Province and Bishop of Gombe Diocese and the Deputy Governor, Manasseh Daniel Jatau respectively.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Governor who spoke behalf of the recipients said that the the awards will motivate them to render more services to humanity in Gombe State and in the Country generally.
Jatau further appreciated the honour and recognition by the Christian body, saying the award will motivate them to contribute more to humanity.
He said the Governor and the entire administration of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya acknowledges the role of religion and prayers of the faithfuls in the issues of peaceful coexistence and overall development of the society.
According to him, “Governor Inuwa Yahaya always sends his goodwill and greetings whenever I informed him of attending a Church programme. This is because he knows that Prayer is very important, without which there will be no meaningful achievement in the society”.
The Deputy Governor stressed the need for christians to live according to christian virtues of unity and peace and love for all irrespective of any form of difference.
He said further that the enemies of christians are within, in the form of disunity and division which he said is more dangerous causing a lot of cracks in the Church’s oneness and and unity.
He called on the newly innaugurated EXCO to see their election as a burden which most be shouldered with the highest sense of responsibility and urged the entire Church to continue to pray for the the state and the country in the midst of the numerous challenges facing the country so that God may bring an end to the maladies.
Also speaking,the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Father Joseph Alphonsus Shinga congratulated the newly innaugurated Executive Council of the CPFN/PFN, Gombe Chapter and appreciated the Primate Church of Nigeria and Deputy Governor as well as all those other awardees
Also,Bishop Charles Okonkwo who spoke on the theme, “the Power of Unification”, taken his sermon from Genesis Chapter eleven verses one to five.
The clergy admonished the congregation to imbibe the spirit of unity irrespective of denominational differences for the Church to fulfill the desires of Jesus, which says, “that they may be one”.
Meanwhile, the new Executive were decorated at the occasion.
