Gombe Govt inaugurates Christian Pilgrims Board
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya on Tuesday, inaugurated a 16-member Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board with the Ndigurah Cham, James Chachis as chairman.
Inaugurating the Board at the Government House on behalf of Governor, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi said their selection was based on their individual merit and recognition of their respective immense contribution to the development of the State.

While congratulating them on their well deserved appointments, the Governor urged them to exhibit exemplary character in the discharge of their assigned responsibilities with commitment and the fear of God.
He informed the board members that it is inline with the importance the government attaches to issues pertaining religious activities that the board was constituted and inaugurated for the smooth conduct of Christian Pilgrimage.
He also used the opportunity to appeal to Traditional rulers, Religious leaders, Community leaders and indeed the general public to fully engage in promoting peace in the state describing as critical stakeholders.
He urged communities to eschew bitterness and learn to live with one another peacefully.
The Governor further encouraged people of the state to evolve home grown strategies and methods of settling community and family-based misunderstanding in order to ensure normalcy and peaceful co-existence.
The chairman of the board, Chachis appreciated the Governor and state government’s foresight in constituting both the christian and Muslim pilgrims welfare boards to fast track the exercise of these basic religious activities.
The Ndigurah Cham also commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his efforts towards entrenching peace and development in the state.
He assured that on their part they would continually support the government in prayers and to ensure peace thrives across the state.
The monarch further appealed to the state government to hasten the release of fertilizer to farmers inview of it’s high cost in the open market.
