PVC: Additional four machines improve registration in Gombe centre
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Gombe says it has been able to register 202, 838 individuals so far ahead of the termination of registration on the 31st of August 2022.

According to the head of voter education and publicity, Nuhu Ibrahim, the commission did not experience any issues during the period of registration however, distributed more machines to attend to the high surge of Nigerians who came in the dying days of registration.

Our correspondent reports that until recently functional machines was four, with the addition the number jumps to eight which was said to have reduced the stress.

Ibrahim said, “We were able to collect four more machines from some local government areas to the state bringing the total number of machines in the secretariat to eight.
“We have been able to register from July 25th 202,838. I can’t give you today’s figure because we are not through. Until the last person on the queue is registered we won’t end it. Since, Monday, last week we have been doing overtime, to ensure no one was left behind. We also received help from volunteers from NGOs that helped us in phone registration and corrections.”
Also speaking, A registrant identified as Rebecca Mohammed, said she had come close to the verge of registering for about three time, adding that she was determined to get registered.
She said, “I’m excited that it almost my turn after about three close attempts but I refused to give up. Finally, I will get registered ahead of 2023 elections.”
