VSF hands over three Solar-Powered Boreholes, others to 3,000 households in Gombe State
Gombe State Government has received three Solar-Powered boreholes, support across health facilities, food and non-food items intervention from the Victims Support Fund on COVID-19.

Presenting the items, the Chairperson of the Victims Support Fund taskforce on COVID-19 Barr. Toyosi Akeredele-Ogunsiji, said the donation was based on need assessment undertaken by the Fund,
“there is need for indigent people to be assisted with both food and non-food items comprising health safety equipment and other health consumables, assorted grains, cooking oil and edibles targeting 3,000 households,” Akeredele-Ogunsiji said.
She also explained that the gesture was to help mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
The Taskforce Chairperson also disclosed that three solar-powered boreholes were provided to secondary schools across the three senatorial districts, namely GSS Malam-Sidi, GGSS Kuri and JSS Latatar to meet the water needs of the students.
Receiving the items on behalf of the people and government of the state,the commissioners of Health Dr Habu and his Education counterpart Mr. Dauda Batari Zambuk appreciated the General T. Y. Danjuma led Victim Support Fund on COVID-19 pandemic for considering the state in it’s intervention programme.
The team later proceeded to Government Secondary school Mallam Sidi to commission one of the Solar-powered borehole provided by the VSF.
Periscope Nigeria reports that the distribution of the food and none-food items would be 50 percent shared by the Gombe State Government, while the remaining 50 percent would be distributed by Civil Society Organisations.
State Emergency Management Agency Executive Secretary and the Chairman of Civil Society Organisations in Gombe State assured of judicious distribution of the commodity to the targeted beneficiaries who are the less-privileged.
