The Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House Gombe, Alhaji Ismaila Uba Misilli, has urged investors to fulfill their parts of bargain by coming to invest in Gombe State considering the Memorandum of Understanding signed between their organisations and Gombe State Government.

Our Correspondent reports that the agreement amounts to 75 billion Naira which is expected to come from the various investors in the state

Misilli made this plea in a chat with Periscope Nigeria as backdrop of the Gombe State Investment Summit tagged “Goinvest”, that just ended, the DG said the summit from all indications was successful and commended the state Government for the initiative.

He added that the Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya made it clear that commerce, industry and tourism were well established in Gombe.

He stressed that the Governor pointed out that throughout history, the State has continued to capture the imagination of traders, business caravans and enterprising wanderers from within and outside Nigeria.

The Director-General stressed further that the Governor Muhammadu Inuwa said, “Gombe is open for business. It is the destination of choice for investment in the north-east subregion. Not even the more than a decade-old Boko Haram insurgency or the Covid-19 pandemic and its attendant global economic meltdown could slow our march towards progress. This is the leadership we promise.

“This is the Gombe State we are building, one that will serve as a model to the rest of the country and a source of pride to our future generations. Our march towards building a peaceful, prosperous and all-inclusive state must not be distracted. We cannot afford to fail or slow down,” he quoted the Governor.

Misilli expressed optimism of the responses of investors and the business community so far, revealing that hundreds of investors have expressed interest to operate from the industrial park, and many more areas within the State.

He said during the summit, the Governor Yahaya in the presence of the Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo and other business partners signed  MoU with some leading local and international brands to further demonstrate the success of the efforts of the Governor.

Meanwhile, the event was attended by both local and foreign investors, development partners, financial institutions, members of the business community among others while the Governor expressed appreciation to all investors and partners for their trust and confidence in the state, and for taking the bold steps to tap into the amazing potentials which abound in Gombe state.
