Gombe Gov, CP Decorate Govt House CSO Sani Bajoga, DCP Kabir Abdu, four others with new ranks
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya has decorated his Chief Security Officer, CSO, Sani Bajoga with his new rank following his recent promotion from Superintendent ( SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police ( CSP).

The Governor was assisted by the Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command, CP Ishola Babaita in performing the exercise.
In a brief remark, Yahaya said the promotion was a result of hard work, commitment, dedication and meritorious service.
He said, “This promotion is an appreciation of your hard work, commitment and dedication to duty; that is why we all gathered here to perform this brief but significant ceremony.”

Yahaya expressed satisfaction with the performance of his CSO since assuming duty in 2019, saying his promotion did not come to him as a surprise.
He congratulated the newly elevated officer and urged him to continue to discharge his duties in line with ethical conduct.

Governor Yahaya expressed the conviction that the Nigerian Police and other security agencies operating in Gombe are delivering their expected tasks to ensure the State continues to enjoy the prevailing peace.
“From the citation of the two gentlemen, it is clear that they merited the promotion to their new ranks.
“On behalf of my humble self, my family, the government and the entire good people of Gombe state, I congratulate you for achieving this feat.
Speaking later during a short event to decorate the five others at the command headquarters, Babaita, lauded the Inspector General of Police for finding the officers worthy, urging the newly decorated to double their efforts with dedication.
Among the five officers decorated include; Kabir Abdu a former Assistant Commissioner of Police promoted to Deputy Commissioner of Police; Jummai Zakayo, Abdullahi Ibrahim former Chief Superintendents of Police decorated as Assistant Commissioners of Police.
Others are; Zakari Garba second officer in charge of Counter Terrorism Unit and Usman Mohammed Gombe Divisional Police promoted from Superintendent of Police to Chief Superintendent of Police.
The Commissioner charged them to improve further in their respective duties. The Police Commissioner assured that the Police and other security agencies would continue to ensure close working relationship with the State Government towards.
“Now you have a higher rank, you need to put more effort. Let them see you behave like Deputy Commissioner of Police and not as Assistant Commissioner of Police. You need to behave like Assistant Commissioners of Police and not as Chief Superintendent of Police, you also need to Chief Superintendent of Police and not as Superintendent of Police,” Babaita added.
