Gombe Gov swears in newly appointed members of State Executive Council

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has categorically stated that his administration would not tolerate ineptitude and corrupt practices.
“This administration will not condone act of indiscipline and corruption in whatever form. You must therefore strive to conduct the affairs of your various Ministries and Departments with the fear of God and ensure that public resources are utilised judiciously, efficiently and transparently,” Yahaya said.
The Governor added that the appointments of two Commissioners and four special Advisers are in line with his determination and commitment of providing a purposeful and responsive leadership aimed at meeting the yearnings and aspirations of the people for physical development and good governance.
He said, “This development is in order to achieve these lofty ideas of ensuring that we shall always ensure that only suitably-qualified persons, who would remain accountable, transparent and responsible are appointed into public office.
“No doubt, these appointments are based purely on their sterling qualities, integrity, track record of enviable achievements and good public conduct.”
According to the Governor, “our administration will consistently match words with action both in policy formulation and implementation as evidenced from the numerous programs and projects we achieved in the past three and half years. The task before the newly sworn-in appointees is therefore to sustain this tempo of spectacular achievements with sincerity of purpose, transparency, accountability, loyalty and commitment. These attributes are the clear hallmarks of purposeful leadership as exemplified by this administration and should be imbibed and sustained by all.”
He advised that they should always be guided by the noble principles of equity, fairness and justice.
Yahaya added, “In addition, this administration will continue to rekindle the hopes of our people by creating equal and better opportunities for all and sundry. Equally, we shall continue to mobilize and guide our people towards harnessing our abundant human and material resources so as to achieve a stronger and better society.
” I urge you to fast track your familiarisation with the system and processes in order to ensure proper implementation of our government programmes and policies. In the same vein, we look forward to the newly sworn-in Special Advisers to bring on their expertise and wealth of experience to bear so as to further implement people-oriented policies and programmes that will take our State to the next-level.”
Yahaya enjoined them to always work harmoniously with all stakeholders in order to ensure Government programmes and policies are implemented effectively and efficiently, stressing that the task of nation building requires a collective effort of all stakeholders and he therefore used the opportunity to call on all political appointees, civil servants and the entire people of Gombe state to give the government their full cooperation and support in order to enable it deliver on the mandate given to us by the people.
“I therefore call on you to ensure strict adherence to laid-down financial guidelines and regulations. Furthermore, as representatives of your various communities, you are encouraged to operate an open-door policy so as to ensure the success of the people and indeed the government.”
He called on them to always come to terms with the realities of the day in terms of economic, security, social and political exigencies of the state, the country and the entire world.
“For us to achieve our collective goals, we must carefully plan, develop local solutions to our problems and strategically implement policies and programmes that would have greater impact on the economy, lives and livelihoods of our people,” he said.
He assured the people of Gombe State that the administration will remain unwavering and committed towards creating an enabling environment to foster development.
“We shall continue to do our best in order to deliver on the mandate given to us by the people up until the very last day of this administration”.
The former Dauda Batari is now moved from Ministry of Education to Ministry of Higher Education.
Shehu Ibrahim Madugu from Ministry of Energy and Solid Minerals to Ministry of Environment and Forestry,
Aishatu Umaru Maigari from Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation moved to Ministry of Education
Meshak Audu Lauco – moved from Ministry of Higher Education to Ministry of Information and Culture, while the newly sworn-in Commissioners are Sanusi Ahmed Pindiga to Ministry of Energy and Solid Minerals and Andirya Abishai Moljengo posted to Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
He urged all political office holders to be up and doing in the discharge of their various responsibilities.
Responding on behalf of other appointees, Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe promised that the newly appointed would be dedicated, committed, loyal and “abide by the philosophy of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya led administration which has transformed the lives of ordinary people in Gombe State.”
