Ready to Run movement pays District Head of Kashere visit
Alhaji Mustapha Ibrahim, the Hakimi of Kashere, Sardaunan Pindiga, a former INEC Commissioner on Sunday hosted a delegation of youths under the umbrella of Ready To Run Movement, in his residence in Gombe.
The group visited the traditional ruler on a familiarisation visit, Speaking, The Coordinator Auwal Gombe said the delegation was there to beseech fatherly advice from Ibrahim.
He explained some of the activities of the organisation to include public awareness and sensitisation on social vices in focus areas such of radio stations, secondary schools, town hall meetings, and many more.
Also speaking, a member of the movement, Faruk Ahmad told their host, that Rishi Sunak ascending to UK’s top political position at an unusual young age of 42 was vindication of the Ready To Run Movement.
He said, “the youths are ready to take the mantle of leadership to steer the affairs of government at all levels.
“What we need is no more than guidance and advice from experienced hands as yours.”
On his part, another member, Abubakar Mai Leshi, recalled many events wherein Hakimin Kashere interceded on their behalf inorder to achieve a common goal.
Reiterating major objectives of the CSO, Mai Leshi said “we are still benefiting from the advices you gave us years ago.
“In fact your influence has taken to greater heights.
“Many at times we were able to achieve our objectives and accomplish many projects through your influence.”
On his part, Ibrahim, Hakimin Kashere, charged members of the organisation to be responsible citizens and change ambassadors.
He also told them from his pool of experience, possible challenges they might encounter on their voyage to a society of sanity.
According to him, “not everyone will agree with you on your journey to the truth, but regardless of that you must speak the truth always.”
“It is cowardice for you to give up your right without putting up a fight,” Ibrahim added.
This is even as he recounted his days in the public service, while also decrying irresponsiveness and nonchalance of government towards foreign direct investments.
He explained that the attitude costs communities a lot.
While pledging his support to Ready To Run’s future endeavours, the district head charged the organisation not to give up on it’s mandate no matter the challenges it might encounter.
