Gombe Govt provides 600 bags of grains, non-food items, others to victims of bandits attack
The Gombe State Government has provided relief items for victims of Thursday morning bandits attack in Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State.
Our Correspondent reports that the attack involving Amtawalam, Pobaure Communities left three persons killed and property destroyed by the attackers.
Disclosing the efforts of Government, Commissioner for Information Meshack Lauco, during briefing shortly after State’s Executive Council meeting held explained the provision was geared towards ameliorating the pains of victims.
Lauco disclosed that the provision was done through State Emergency Management Agency, adding that the items include food and non-food items to provide succour cushion to the victims.
He said, “the items provided include: 200 bags of rice, 200 bags of beans, 200 bags of maize, 8 Cartons of vegetable oil, 180 pieces of blankets, 189 pieces of mats, 10 cartons of soap, 126 mattresses, 200, treated mosquito nets and some essential drugs.”
Recall that the State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, earlier on Friday, embarked on assessment tour to the crime scene to condole victims, while assuring that efforts would be put in motion to ensure the violence is nipped in the board.
He also implored the police command to immediately establish outpost to curtail the reoccurrence of the attack.
