Taraba Assembly begs Gov Ishaku over seven years unpaid staff allowances

Taraba State House of Assembly on Friday appealed to Governor Darius Ishaku, to release the seven years pending assembly staff allowances for payment.
Prof. Joseph Albasu Kunini, the speaker of the house made the appeal while speaking during the signing of the 2023 budget by governor Ishaku at the Exco chamber of state government house Jalingo said, the staff have demonstrated the spirit of diligence service and deserve to be appreciated.
Kunini appealed that the plight and patient of the staff be treated with priority to enable them feel the impact of civil service.
“Signing of the 2023 budget today for the development of Taraba would be last of your administration as governor. I, on behalf of the assembly commend you for the hight of development you have taken Taraba to.
” I want to announce to you that we have increase the 2023 budget appropriation bill by 500,000,000 to enable the state Independent Electoral Commission conduct local government election in 2023.
“I also want to appeal that the pending 7 years unpaid allowances of staff of Taraba state House of Assembly be treated with priority. The staff have demonstrated the spirit of diligence service for the development of Taraba and I want to pronounce that they deserve to be treated with human face to enable them feel the impact of civil service,” Kunini begged.
Governor Darius Ishaku while responding said, his administration would within the remaining five months, ensure monitoring of project and programs implementation for accountability to achieve the budget target for the development of Taraba.
He promised to led balance of service for the incoming administration for a smooth takeoff and continues development of the state.
Our Correspondent reports that governor Darius Ishaku had on Tuesday November 29, presented the 2023 budget estimate of N172,734,537,459 to the assembly for passage into law but the assembly however, increased the budget by 500,000,000 to enable the state Independent Electoral Commission conduct local government election in 2023.
