Elections: Gombe NYSC Coordinator Seeks Adequate Protection For Corps Members
The State Coordinator NYSC Gombe,Mrs Ada Imoni, has paid Courtesy call on the Commissioner of Police Gombe State Command, CP Oqua Etim.
Imoni, While congratulating him on his recent appointment, solicited for his assistance especially in the area of providing adequate security for Corps members as the 2023 General elections draw close.
She particularly commended the role of the Nigerian Police Force especially during Orientation Programmes, Imoni used the opportunity to commend DSP Benjamin Soktsi Yakubu, who has continuously stood out in his assignment as the Head of Police on Camp.
In his response, CP Etim, said the NYSC Scheme has come a long way and touched the lives of Nigerians, adding that any issue that concerns the welfare and security of Corps members Should be taken seriously.
“Under my watch, the Nigeria Police Force is highly concerned about the welfare and security of Corps members. I pledge to give my best as a partner in progress and great friend of the Scheme,” he said
At the office of the Director of Security, Department of State Services, the State Coordinator also solicited for his support in providing security for Corps members during the general elections.
Responding, the Director, Abba Adams, said the Command would give its best to allay fears of Nigerians and see to the success of the 2023 General elections.
“However, we must put aside our differences for the good of this nation,” he added.
