NYSC Sensitises Corps Members To Advantages Of Vocational Skills
State Coordinator National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs Ada Imoni has called on the 2023 Batch A Stream I Corps members deployed to Gombe State to take advantage of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme.

Our Correspondent reports that SAED is a nationwide initiative of the Federal Government aimed at building the capacity of Corps members for wealth creation, in order to stem the tide of unemployment.


With no fewer than 860 Batch A stream I Corps Members participating.
The State Coordinator, represented by Mr Bala Mohammed Baba, the Camp Director at the opening ceremony of Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme, at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Gombe State.
She maintained that the twelve set skills and sub-sets have been carefully packaged to expose them to Entrepreneurship Development, bearing in mind that white collar jobs are scarce and for the Lucky few.
Imoni also emphasised on the collaboration of the Scheme with Financial Institutions like Bank of industry, Access Bank, Central Bank and Leventis Foundation among others to provide soft loans to Corps members to start up businesses.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Abdullahi Maidabino, from National Directorate of Employment delivered lecture on Entrepreneurship Development as well as motivational talk by Mr Victor Akpan,Chief Executive Officer Febstar International Driving School.
