863 Batch A Stream II Corps Members Complete Service In Gombe
….four get extension, two others abscond

No fewer than 863 batch A stream II corps members completed National service, four got extension, while two were said to have absconded.
The State Coordinator National Youth Service Corps Gombe, Mrs Ada Imoni, made this disclosure on Thursday, as she commended the Corps members for exhibiting high level of discipline in the course of the service year.


Our Correspondent reports that the low-key ceremony which held at Bolari Zonal office was monitored by Mrs Christiana Salmwang, Deputy Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, NYSC Directorate Headquarters.


According to her, “A total of 863 Corps members passed out, out of which, two absconded and four got extension of service for various offences committed, after facing the Corps Disciplinary Committee.”
Imoni urged the 863 corps members not to rush back home but put to use skills acquired through the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme to start businesses in order to stem the tide of unemployment.
While appreciating their effort at the Presidential and National Assembly elections that took place on the 25th February, 2023, Imoni added that their effort gave the nation, free, fair and credible elections.
“As you commence the next phase of your life, I urge you not to despise meagre beginnings . You made us proud through your involvement in Community Development Service and the general elections. I pray God give you your heart desires,” she added.
The State Coordinator was also at the Federal Secretariat, where the other 10 Local Government Areas assembled, to monitor the exercise.
