The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, was in the company of the Honourable Commissioner for Information Meshach Audu Lauco, during the wedding of his son, Maxwell.

The wedding took place at ECWA Goodnews Church Lapan, Shongom Local Government Area.
Mr Maxwell Meshach Lauco, got wedded to former Miss Rahila Bappa in a very colourful society wedding.
Rev. Joel Wakili, the Shongom ECWA DCC Chairman, who performed the joining, declared them husband and wife after both exchanged marital vows according to Christian rites.

In a goodwill message during the wedding, the Deputy Governor said, marriage is ordained by God for procreation, love and caring for a better fellowship with God and man.
He further said, when people enter into the institution according to the will and purpose of God, the family attracts the blessings of God and becomes a valuable asset in the society.
DrJatau explained that in life certificates are issued when a task is successfully accomplished but, for marriages they are issued at the beginning of the journey indicating that marriage is fragile which needs to be managed with care and should never fail for any reason.
He said, “marriage is a noble institution made for recreation, unity and happiness. A society that has quality moral values that prepares the youths towards godly and better marriages has the advantage of having a better Society where love, care and moral values thrive. The kind of moral decadence as characterising the society today will be absent.”
“Parents who have children that grew up to take the part of morality and marry according to the established and accepted norms become proud. I am sure that the Honourable Lauco, his family, and the family of the bride are today very proud and happy to have their children entering into marriage the way of holy matrimony. Congratulations to you all.
“May I also appreciate and commend the couple for not betraying the investment their parents made on them to ensure the instilling of discipline and godliness. This made it possible for us to gather today and celebrate you. Our joy will only be complete if you sustain the marriage through hard work, patience, and allowing God take charge of your affairs. I call on other youths who are yet to marry to emulate you for a better Society.
” It is my prayer that God Almighty shall bless you with all the blessings associated with marriage and life in it’s entirety,” he said.
In his sermon, the Minister in Charge of the Church, Rev. Ishaya Marwa, admonished the couple on the need to build their home on love, obedience, patience and sacrifice as Jesus demonstrated to the Church.
He took his texts from Acts Chapter Three verse Eleven, and chapter Four verse one as well as from Ephesians chapter five verses twenty one to twenty five where he charged married women to be submissive to their husbands and married men to love their wives.
Reflecting on the Easter Celebration, He charged the congregation in the need to care, to assist, and sacrifice for others as Jesus did. He also noted that, the Bible has placed it indisputably that Jesus died and resurrected, and is the only name given under heaven, by which humanity may be saved.
The Honourable Commissioner for Information, Lauco, appreciated God for witnessing the event. He also appreciated the Deputy Governor and all those who contributed in making the wedding a huge success.
