Gombe United’s Anayo Ogbonna, calmly slot home from the spot kick at the 9th minute, gave the host the lone goal.

Speaking during the post match conference Abara, explained that it was one thing to coach the team and another for the boys to replicate what had been taught, adding that when the game starts the players become in charge.

He said, “It’s our responsibility to coach, teach them how to score but I don’t I don’t think it’s our responsibility to score for them.

“You have total control of them, once they blow the whistle the game starts they have control of you that is reverse is the case.”

Commenting on the hope of escaping relegation Abara expressed optimism that the team would scale through adding that, “the dream is still alive but you know this game of football is about repetition of mistakes for an opponent to adjust and carry the day or for you to adjust and carry the day it was very unfortunate we couldn’t adjust today to carry the day. We lost.”

On his part, The Technical Adviser of Gombe United Aliyu Zubairu, said he studied the tactics employed by the warriors, he said, “I did my findings to know the tactics they used to defeat Nasarawa United in Jos. we equally worked out our plan that will match their system that was why our game plan worked.”

On scoring chances, Zubairu said “Goal scoring is about nurturing, we will continue to nurture like putting the seed in the ground and continue to put water.”
