NDE collates database of unemployed in Gombe
The Gombe state office of the National Directorate of Employment, says its embarking on two weeks Nation wide registration of unemployed persons with age bracket 15 and above.
According to a press statement obtained by our correspondent on Wednesday dated April and issued by Lamu Asma’u, Assistant Director of NDE in the Public Relations unit, the exercise commenced from Monday 17th April, 2023 till 5th May, 2023.
Asma’u disclosed that the purpose of the exercise was to know the number of unemployed persons in Gombe.
The statement partly read, “The purpose of the exercise is to estimate the number of unemployed persons in the state.
“To know the distribution of the unemployed persons by age, sex, qualification and geographical location.”
Asma’u noted that the Directorate would harvest data to harness planning and evaluation, urging them to visit the Local Government Areas to register.
“Develop a veritable source of unemployment data for the NDE data bank which is needed for programme planning, monitoring and evaluation.
“In view of the above all the unemployed persons in the state are to go to their respective Local Government Secretariat daily for the registration,” Asma’u added.
