Gombe batch A stream II commemorates NYSC @ 50 with cultural carnival
As part of activities lined up to commemorate the golden jubilee of the NYSC, the cultural carnival for 2023 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course was packaged with lots of exciting activities.


The colourful carnival, which took place at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Gombe State featured cooking competition and cultural dance showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria.


Declaring the occasion open, Mrs Ada Imoni, said the carnival was to commemorate the 50th anniversary of a Scheme that has been in the forefront of promoting unity and diversity for the past fifty years.
“I call on Corps members to see the beauty in the nation’s diversity by seeing one another as brothers and sisters promoting national unity and integration, peace, love and respect for one another.
“Let us therefore showcase the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria through diverse dance steps and delicacies prepared by the various Platoons,” she said.

The peak of the occasion was cultural dance showcasing the Tangale, Yoruba, Tiv, Sayawa, Tula, Efik, Hausa, Fulani, Idoma and Igbo rich cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, to reward outstanding performance, some Camp officials and Corps members were recognised by the State Coordinator,Imoni.
