DRR camp Commandant seeks stronger ties with Gombe NYSC

The Commandant, De-radicalisation, Rehabilitation and Reintegration camp, Operation Safe Corridor, Mallam-Sidi, Gombe State, Colonel Abiodun Johnson, has lauded management of National Youth Service Corps for its continuous posting of Corps members to its clinic.

Our correspondent reports that the DRR is a transit camp for repentant Boko Haram members.
The Commandant, speaking during a courtesy call paid on the State Coordinator, Mr Dawut Jidda, also said the visit was part of his familiarisation tour, having assumed office recently.
He maintained that the synergy between the Military and the Scheme cannot be over emphasised, describing the two organisations as partners in progress.
“Thank you for posting your Corps medics to our clinic. We pray for sustenance of the existing synergy.Our doors are open to assist the Scheme whenever the need arises. Feel free to reach out to us,” he added.
In his response, the State Coordinator, Jidda, appreciated the Commandant for the visit, adding that, the NYSC would continue to partner with them. He also commended the effort of Operation Safe Corridor for rehabilitating repented insurgents and instilling good values in them.
“The task of rehabilitating insurgents is not an easy one . I commend your effort for grooming and refining them into better citizens for the good of the nation,” he maintained.
Jidda, poured encomiums on the founding father of the Scheme, General Yakubu Gowon (retd.), for coming up with a Scheme that has overtime changed the lives of Nigerians and at the front burner of fostering national unity and integration.
