Tiv cultural leader commends Taraba Assembly over call to end insecurity

The President General Tiv Culture and Social Association Taraba State, Chief Joshua Ayagwa on Thursday, commended the state house of Assembly Jalingo for demanding president Bola Tinubu’s declaration of state of emergency on security on some local government in Taraba.
Chief Ayagwa gave the commendation while reacting to the Assembly’s resolution that the persistent killings and attacks on Wukari, Takum, Ussa, Donga and Karim-Lamido local governments by suspected bandits was a threat to food security and general economy of Taraba that demands immediate action by the federal government.
The Taraba Tiv cultural leader saluted the courage and step by the state house of Assembly to ensure that citizens of the state leaves in peace.
“I sincerely commend the Taraba state house of Assembly for the call for declaration of state of emergency on security on some local government in Taraba.
“The persistent killings and attacks on Wukari, Takum, Ussa, Donga and Karim-Lamido local governments by suspected bandits demands immediate declaration of state of emergency on security on the affected local governments. On our part as Tiv people of Taraba, we welcome every idea and decision by government that would bring peace in the state.
“The continues banditry activities in the affected local is a threat to food security and the general economy of Taraba. The activities of the bandits in Taraba need to be immediately flush out.
“I wish to declare that the Tiv people of the Taraba state would give their full support to the security agencies that would be deploy to facilitate the move.
“I wish to also advise youth in the state to desist from social media propaganda on things that concerns the security of Taraba state. I want to appeal to stakeholders to also discourage the idea of over reacting on social media propaganda that due create a lot of tension but most times turn to be fake,” Chief Ayagwa commended.
