Gombe gov gets approval for 30 Special Advisers, reappointment of council chairs

Gombe State House of Assembly has approved the appointment of 30 Special Advisers, as well as extension of tenure of 11 Local Government Chairmen.
This was sequel to a letter sent to the house by the State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, which was read by the clerk Barrister Rukkaiyatu Jalo, requesting for the house approval.
On the extension of tenure and reappointment of 11 Local Government caretaker committee chairmen from June to December 2023.
Member representing Yamaltu East Adamu Pata, while moving a motion to that effect said there was need for continuity in governance, “I want to call on my colleagues to give speedy approval.”
He urged the caretaker chairmen to understand that the legislators are partners in progress given to achieving development in governance.
In the same vein, the house has also approved Yahaya’s appointment of 30 Special Advisers for the smooth running of governance in the state.
The approval followed a letter sent to the house by the governor requesting for the approval of the house to appoint 30 Special Advisers that would support him running the affairs of the government.
Briefing house correspondents after plenary the Majority Leader of the house Yerima Gaule, urged the appointees to perform well, adding that “they are to advise the governor well so as to help the executive in delivering meaningful projects to the electorate.”
