Gov Yahaya mourns Borno immediate past SSG
….. donates N50Million to victims of February fire outbreak

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, of Gombe State and Chairman Northern Governors’ Forum has commiserated with the Government and people of Borno State over the death of its erswhile Secretary to the State Government Usman Jidda Shuwa.

Delivering the Governor’s condolence message the State Deputy Governor, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, who led the State’s powerful delegation said Governor Yahaya and the people of Gombe State are saddened by shocking passing away of the SSG whom he described as hardworking, dedicated and astute technocrat that has committed himself to the development of the nation, Borno State and humanity.

Yahaya, however, enjoined the Government, people of Borno State and the family of the deceased to take solace in the fact only Allah gives and takes life at his own appointed time.

Meanwhile, The Governor also sympathised with the Government and people of Borno State over the February 26 Maiduguri fire incident that destroyed billions of naira worth of goods.

He said though it does happen but there was need for people to be more careful to guard against avoidable ones.
The leader of the delegation Jatau presented a cheque of N50, 000, 000 on behalf of the Government and people of Gombe State to help cushion the effect of properties lost.
Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, who received the delegation appreciated Governor Inuwa Yahaya, for the show of love stressing that the people of the state will continue to cherish the long existing fraternity between the two States.
The Gombe State delegation later proceeded to the residence of the late SSG in company of the Borno State Governor where the immediate past Secretary to Gombe Government and the pioneer Chairman of North-East SSG’s forum Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, said the nation and indeed Borno State has lost a rare gem whom he described as a great and selfless public officer.
The State delegation comprised the former Executive Secretary of SEMA Abdullahi Haruna Abdullahi, Director Special Services and Political SSG’s office Bala Sarki and other top Government fuctionaries.
