These words echo the dreams and aspirations of millions of Nigerians who long for a brighter future, a future where the abundant resources of this great nation are fully utilised to their full potential. It is a dream that transcends generations, a dream that fuels hope in the hearts of the people. Now, with the assumption of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu into office, there is renewed optimism that this dream is inching closer to becoming a reality. In less than 21 days since his inauguration, President Tinubu has already taken significant steps towards fixing the country and addressing some of its most pressing issues. One of the first actions that President Tinubu took was signing the electricity bill. This move is a testament to his commitment to tackling the longstanding power crisis in Nigeria. With a reliable and efficient electricity system, industries can thrive, job opportunities can multiply, and the standard of living can improve for all Nigerians.

Furthermore, President Tinubu recognised the importance of education by addressing the issue of student loans. By prioritizing access to affordable education, he is empowering the youth and investing in the future of Nigeria. Education is the key to unlocking the nation’s potential, and this step will undoubtedly contribute to the development of a skilled and competitive workforce. Another significant stride taken by President Tinubu was the cancellation of subsidies that only served as avenues for a few elites to siphon from the collective wealth of Nigeria’s oil and gas resources. This decision demonstrates his commitment to promoting transparency and ensuring that the nation’s resources are utilized for the benefit of all Nigerians. It is a clear message that corruption will not be tolerated under his leadership.

On his inauguration day, President Tinubu made a promise to follow due process diligently. This commitment to upholding the principles of justice and fairness is a reassuring sign that Nigeria is entering a new era of governance. By adhering to due process, President Tinubu is laying the foundation for a system built on integrity, accountability, and respect for the rule of law. The actions taken by President Tinubu within these few weeks are encouraging signs that change is indeed possible. They demonstrate his understanding of the challenges that Nigerians face and his determination to address them head-on. However, it is important to remember that transforming a nation takes time, and there will undoubtedly be obstacles along the way.

But let us not lose sight of the dream. Let us not lose hope in the face of adversity. Nigeria has weathered storms before and emerged stronger. The spirit of resilience that runs deep within the Nigerian people will guide us towards a brighter future. One day, Nigeria will thrive. One day, money will circulate, and light will be abundant. One day, Nigerians will no longer need to seek opportunities abroad, for the opportunities will flourish within the borders of their homeland. We have yearned for this day, and it will come. However, the responsibility does not rest solely on the shoulders of President Tinubu. It is a collective effort that requires the participation of every Nigerian citizen. We must hold our leaders accountable, demand transparency, and actively engage in the democratic process. Together, we can shape the destiny of our great nation.

So let us keep the dream alive. Let us continue to strive for a Nigeria where basic amenities such as clean water, good healthcare, and quality education are accessible to all. Let us envision a Nigeria with well-maintained infrastructure, efficient public services, and an inclusive society. One day, Nigeria will be better. The journey may be long, and the road may be arduous, but we must persevere. Let us draw strength from our past achievements, celebrate our diversity, and unite as one people, bound together by our shared vision for a prosperous Nigeria.

The dream lives.
