Take advantage of 30-hour period of SAED
No fewer than 30-hour period is dedicated to Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Develop, in the 21 days orientation course with a call by the Gombe State National Youth Service Corps Coordinator Dawut Jidda, for Corps members to take advantage.

He made this call at the temporary orientation camp Amada Akko Local Government Area, while advising 2023 Batch ‘B’ stream I Corps members to learn a skill for self-reliance.

Jidda said, “The Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Department of the NYSC has created opportunities for financing Corps members’ business proposals through many channels such as the Youth Entrepreneurship Development (YEDP), in which the Central Bank of Nigeria in Collaboration with Commercial banks mobilises resource for Corps members’ business.
“Hundreds of Corps members have also benefitted from the NYSC/Bank of Industry Graduate Entrepreneurship Fund(GEF).”
Jidda, maintained that the Skill Acquisition mandate is to contribute meaningfully to attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (reduction of extreme poverty and hunger) among others.
He added that the nationwide initiative, would target the Nigerian graduates within the framework of in-camp and post-camp training.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Director Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme, Mrs Beulah Stella Gokum, in her opening remarks, called on the Corps members to take the on-camp training seriously, bearing in mind that the NYSC is doing it’s best to equip them with the necessary skills for self-reliance.
There was motivational talk by Mrs Adeola Christiana CEO Liberty Restaurant and Miss Sarah Pam, CEO SW Creative World.
Mr Abdullahi Yusuf Maidabino, also spoke to the Corps members on Entrepreneurship.
