Gombe police impose curfew after murder of Shiekh Ibrahim Albani

In response to the tragic murder of prominent Islamic scholar Shiekh Ibrahim Musa Albani, the Gombe State Police Command has swiftly enforced a curfew from midnight (12 am) to 6 am.

The curfew which the command described as restriction our correspondent reports was aimed at maintaining public safety, curbing rising criminal activities, and upholding law and order throughout the state.
The directive, issued by Commissioner of Police CP Oqua Etim, was contained in a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer ASP Mahid Abubakar.
Etim that efforts were geared towards that individuals engaged in criminal activities are brought to justice, adding that it would create an environment where criminal elements find no refuge in the state.
The statement partly read, “In light of this, the government has put restrictions in place to curb these criminal activities and protect the citizens. These restrictions are aimed at ensuring that individuals engaging in criminal activities are brought to justice and ensure that the Kalare and other criminal elements have no place in Gombe.
“As such, all residents are advised to cooperate with us and other security agencies and avoid unnecessary movements within the stipulated hours except those on essential services. The police command shall work in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure strict compliance with this directive. The public is urged to support this effort by reporting any suspicious individual or group seen moving within the restricted hours to the nearest security agency.”
Investigation launched into Killing of Islamic scholar Ibrahim Albani – Police
In a similar vien, the Gombe State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the tragic killing of Islamic Scholar Ibrahim Albani at his Tabra residence.
The incident involved four masked assailants who stabbed the scholar after he resisted their demands for money, in his home at Tabra, in the Metropolis.

According to Public Relations Officer ASP Mahid Abubakar, no arrests have been made yet, but thorough investigations are underway as directed by Commissioner of Police CP Oqua Etim.
Governor Yahaya mourns Shiek Albani’s Demise
Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, during a condolence visit to the familyof the late scholar, expressed his sorrow over Albani’s demise and pledged to reinforce the state’s security framework. The Governor condemned the killing and vowed to bring the culprits to justice. He emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining safety and security for all citizens, ensuring incidents like this are prevented from happening again.
