Lobi Stars Vice Chair mourns demise of Referee Rafiu Opeyemi
…prays for the speedy recovery of the survivors
The Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lobi Stars Football Club, Dominic Iorfa, on Monday, mourned the passage of a Referee Rafiu Opeyemi.
Iorfa in a condolence message which was obtained by PERISCOPE NIGERIA, urged the Refree Association to be consoled that Opeyemi died a hero.
The statement partly read, “On behalf of the Management, Staff and Players mourns the sudden demise of Rafiu Opeyemi, a member of the Nigeria Referees Association, who died in a ghastly motor accident on Saturday, in Osu, Ilesha, Osun State.”
Iorfa in his condolence message to the NRA and the immediate family of the deceased described Opeyemi as a good man “who was committed to duty and even died in the course of service,” he said.
Iorfa asked God to console Opeyemi’s family and the Nigeria Football Federation.
