Following the heavy rain downpour on Saturday and Sunday, a lot of houses have been reported to be destroyed in the Northern part of Plateau State.

About 150 houses and some bridges have been destroyed as flood swept through Anguwan Rogo, Naraguta, Bauchi Road and Rikkos, all communities in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Although no life has been reported to be lost, a lot of damages have been done to people who are now displaced.

A resident of Bauchi Road identified as Tanko Alhassan, said “the flood didn’t claim lives but it was huge and people’s properties have been destroyed and lost.”

Also speaking, Mrs Salamatu Aliyu, another resident of Anguwan Rogo said “the rain took us by surprise as we never expected it to be this heavy. I have lost my house and so did my other neighbors too. We are calling on the government to come to our rescue.”

Also, Yohanna David, wrote “our access road has been wiped off, everywhere is muddy and slippery and that makes it impassable. We need the attention of the government please.”
