Kefas inaugurates Taraba Security Solution Committee
The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has inaugurated a high-powered committee called “Taraba Security Solution Committee”.
The committee is saddled with the responsibility of addressing critical security concerns within the state.
In a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Yusuf Sanda, disclosed that the committee is headed by the Commander of the 6th brigade comprising prominent members which include Commissioner of Police, Director of State Security, NSCDC Commandant, Air Force Command Base Gembu, NDLEA Commandant, Commander-General of Taraba Marshal, House of Assembly Representative, Honourable Attorney General/Commissioner of Justice, Comptrollers of Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Correctional Service and Nigeria Customs Service, representative from the Defence Intelligent Agency and Permanent Secretary (HASS) SGS office who serves as the committee secretary.
This team of professionals are to collaborate and study the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) and determine the type/quantity of weapons and equipment that are needed in the state, bearing in mind the topography of the state and identifying the specific training requirements from DICON. The committee is expected to submit the report of their findings within five days.
The commitment of the state government towards strengthening security measures and ensuring the safety of its citizens can be seen in the formation of this committee. As Kefas said, “ensuring the safety of our citizens is our top most priority.”
