Insecurity: COAS to deploy more troops to Taraba

The Nigerian Army has said it will deploy more troops to Taraba to end the growing security challenges in the state.
Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, disclosed this while playing host to governor Agbu Kefas at the defence headquarters Abuja.
Lagbaja noted that the Nigerian Army would not tolerate any activities of persons or group, capable of distracting the government peace efforts for Nigeria and her patriotic citizens.
The Army chief assured that Taraba would be used as a reference point of effective operation in the North East region, as battalion of combatants would be deployed to the state to eliminate all forms of criminality and allow effective governance and development of Taraba.
In a press statement issued to journalists by the Special Adviser to Governor Agbu Kefas, on Media and Digital Communication, Emmanuel Bello, disclosed that Kefas had during the visit at the defence headquarters, solicited the deployment of more troops to Taraba to help end the growing security challenges in the state.
According to the statement, governor Kefas assured that Taraba State Government was prepared to work closely with the Nigerian Army to compliment the military’s strive to secure Taraba and Nigeria at large.
